Despite adverse weather on the second day of the three-day event, Tyree Robinson with Southern Shows of Charlotte estimated the crowd at 30,000 for the entire run of the show.
Robinson said 300 exhibitors came to show their wares to the crowds, representing 500 farm-friendly manufacturers. Plans for next year’s show are even bigger.
“There was no more inside space left last year—we sold every little inch we had,” said Robinson. “We are increasing our outdoor space for next year. We will be moving into the midway area some, and we are looking at plans on that right now.”
Richard Williamson of Evergreen, N.C., was the winner of the Tobacco Moisture Tester given away by Tobacco Farm Quarterly at the Southern Farm Show. The tester was provided by Dagmar Enterprises LLC.
