Zimbabwe taking to float tray seedlings

Tobacco farmers in Zimbabwe are embracing the float tray method of producing seedlings, according to a report in The Herald.

In part, the float tray system is being introduced as a way of eliminating the use of methyl bromide, which is used as a fumigant on traditional seedling beds. Methyl bromide is an ozone-depleting chemical, the use of which is to be eliminated under the Montreal Protocol.
